Mercedes-Benz C-class also as a more powerful plug-in C400e

Until recently, there was only one plug-in hybrid of the Mercedes-Benz C-class, in addition to the fantastic Mercedes-AMG C63 SE Performance, the C300e. That will change, because a new version with a plug has been quietly added to the range. An attentive reader tipped us off, for which thanks! It concerns the Mercedes-Benz C400e. It is currently only available as a Limousine and in one flavour, the four-wheel drive C400e 4Matic AMG Line. A considerably stronger plug-in than the C300e.

The Mercedes-Benz C400e, like every C-class, has a four-cylinder in its nose, which in this case produces 252 hp. Almost 50 hp more than in the C300e. That 2.0-liter petrol engine does work together with the same 129 hp electric motor as in the C300e. Count on a system power of around 350 hp. All this is good for a sprint time from 0 to 100 km / h of just 5.4 seconds and with that the C400e surpasses all other non-AMG versions of the C-class. The top speed of the Mercedes-Benz C400e 4Matic is 250 km/h. The fully electric driving range is 110 km equal to that of the C300e 4Matic and it undoubtedly also gets its power from the same more than 25 kWh battery pack. Recharging takes place with a maximum of 55 kW on a DC charger, on an AC charger with 11 kW. Charging from 10 to 80 percent is done with the maximum charging capacity in 20 minutes.

Mercedes also immediately puts a price tag on the C400e 4Matic AMG Line. It can be ordered from €73,002, making it just under €3,500 more expensive than the C300e 4Matic AMG Line. As mentioned, the C400e is currently only available as a Limousine in the configurator, the C300e is also available as an Estate and, in addition to 4Matic, also with rear-wheel drive.
