In Sardinia, group members Audi and Ducati have organized an exclusive press event for the Ducati DesertX and the Audi RS Q e-tron. In addition to the motorcycle and the car, the man was also present. Or in this case: the men. Danilo Petrucci and the official Audi drivers/co-drivers Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel, Edouard Boulanger, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz.
Exclusive color scheme
Especially for this event, the Centro Stile Ducati has created a distinct color scheme for the DesertX, inspired by that of the RS Q e-tron. The Ducati was ridden by Petrucci, who together with the duo Sainz/Cruz put on a show on a technical off-road track (see video). We especially liked the color scheme on the DesertX, and didn’t want to withhold the photos from you. It is not yet known whether there will be a series production.
RS Q e-tron with DTM engine
We know the Ducati DesertX by now. Read our first driving test here. But for the car fans some extra info about the Audi RS Q e-tron† That’s Audi’s rally prototype to compete in desert rallies. The electric drive with high-voltage batteries uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder DTM engine to generate power. The RS Q e-tron made its debut in the Dakar Rally last January, impressing with four stage wins, while taking its first overall win in March in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.
