Dream motorcycles under the hammer

The UK based online car auction Collecting Cars launched in October 2018. As a result of increasing user demand, the auction platform is expanding its digital reach to include exotic superbikes. Collecting Cars launched its very first ‘Superbike Sunday’ online auction last Sunday.

Desmosedici RR

There was something for everyone, including rare street and race bikes from Aprilia, Bimota, BMW, Ducati, Honda, KTM, Magni, MV Agusta, Suzuki and Triumph. Like a 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR with 3,496 miles on it. The RR is No. 267 of the 1,500 models produced and has not been on the road since 2012. The engine is in full racing configuration.

RC30 and RD500

Also under the hammer was a 1998 Honda VFR750R RC30, one of 3,000 produced to meet World Superbike homologation rules. There was also a Yamaha RD500 YPVS Marlboro Special, a street-legal tribute to Kenny Roberts’ three-time 500cc GP-winning racer. This model has been in heated storage for the past 15 years.
