At the end of this year, the Dodge Challenger and Charger will go out of production, but not before the last few thousand cars – in no less than seven different versions – have been screwed together for the last lucky few. Well, those lucky ones also live in Europe! Dodge reserves five of the seven so-called Last Call versions for export to our continent.
The Dodge Charger and Challenger have both been on the market for more than ten years, but in 2023 the two models will really come to an end. With a series of no fewer than seven swing-out versions, the Last Call editions, Dodge says goodbye to the Charger and Challenger. And how. All kinds of versions, from widebody’s to more than 800 hp strong supercharged variants or naturally breathable ones Scat Packs: they are decorated by Dodge in historically correct colors and decals.
Dodge builds several hundred to several thousand copies of each Last Call version, so the latest iterations of the Charger and now almost iconic Challenger are not extremely exclusive. That’s good news for Europeans, because it also leaves a few for the Dodge enthusiasts here. The 1,040 hp Challenger SRT Demon 170 – the very last call – and the Charger King Daytona will not be coming to Europe, but the other five Last Call versions will.
Up to more than 800 hp strong
Of the first of those five, we now know how many are available in Europe: 55 copies, namely of the Challenger ‘Shakedown’, all with widebody and in pitch black (see image at top of article). Furthermore, the 800 hp strong Challenger Black Ghost, the Charger and Challenger Swinger and the Charger Superbee will also be coming here.
That’s courtesy of official European Dodge importer AEC, which recently expanded its Ram lineup. Anyone interested in one of the last Chargers or Challengers can – due to the exclusivity probably only in the very short term – report to that company.
