Hundreds of enthusiastic spectators enjoyed the 39th St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which had 3,000 participants , according to Mike Goldstein of the Dublin Lions Club. “This is the largest (parade) we ever had. It’s a new record,” he said.
The parade started just after 9:30 a.m. at Amador Plaza Road on Dublin Boulevard, continued east, then north on Village Parkway, west on Amador Valley Boulevard and ended near the Dublin Senior Center.
Several attendees wore green attire to honor the Irish holiday. Delbert Lewis, of Livermore, wore green glasses, a t-shirt and a big smile complementing his orange dyed beard. The parade featured Irish bagpipes, the 2022 Rowell Ranch Rodeo Queen Olivia Sherman, marching bands and floats, local dance troupes, and more. After the parade, people headed over to the festival at the Civic Plaza. The festival continues 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.
